Why Genbox Family History?

It all started when we realised that we needed a high-quality, easy-to-use genealogy program for our own personal and business use. We discovered that there are many family history programs out there in the marketplace, and all of them sound great when you read the list of features on the back of the box!

So we ignored all of that and decided to investigate for ourselves some of the better known programs, basing our tests on the four criteria that we believe are critical for this type of program:

1. Ease of use – how easy is it to enter the details of an ancestor, their wife or husband, children and other relatives and then to jump from one branch of the family to another without getting lost?
    
2. Search facilities – the amount of information about your family soon grows and there is nothing more frustrating than NOT being able to quickly find, for instance, all the ‘Patricks’ in the database. A good program must give you an list of just the data you’re after and then allow you to easily select the right ‘Patrick’!
    
3. Flexible charts and reports – your family information is so much easier to understand when displayed clearly in reports and charts. A good family history program must offer a range of different styles of reports and charts and allow you to easily “tweak” the layouts to suit your requirements.
    
4. Future proof – as you discover more detailed information about your family, so your genealogy program must “stretch” to let you enter not only the basic details about people, but also all the odd and unusual information that so often turns up.

To start using the full version of Genbox Family History immediately, follow these steps: 1.
